Collegiate Recovery Resources, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization,
increases success for college students in recovery and attacks the stigma of addiction
that prevents those students and their families from seeking help
MOST STUDENTS ARE FORCED TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THEIR RECOVERY AND THEIR EDUCATION
WE AIM TO CHANGE THAT
We started Collegiate Recovery Resources to increase success for college students in recovery from substance use issues and to erase the stigma of addiction and recovery that prevents afflicted college students and their families from seeking help.
Our innovative programs support college students in recovery, parents of college students in recovery and Universities by bringing recovery out of the shadows and integrating students in recovery into the center of college life.
We reward college students who are committed to their sobriety and work strong recovery programs with grants and scholarships to cover the cost of recovery housing, recovery support services and educational advancement opportunities.
We underwrite programs for parents of college students in recovery that provide education, tools and support to increase recovery success for their student, themselves and the entire family.
We support Universities by subsidizing on-campus recovery residences & promoting recovery awareness programs
We believe that every college student in recovery from substance use issues should have an engaging, fulfilling college experience ---to discover their full potential and pursue their dreams in a safe and supportive climate----in the center of college life.
Students with substance abuse disorders are nine times more likely to stay sober if they live in recovery housing with a community of peers. These students also achieve higher than average GPA’s and greatly increase their chances of graduation. They are also more likely to earn advanced degrees. Informed by research and the formidable outcomes produced at student recovery communities in places like Rutgers University, Penn State, Augsburg College and the five The Haven at College Recovery Residences, CRR knows it is possible for recovering students to live sober and experience the academic, social, and economic rewards of earning a degree.
